Hello Titanic enthusiasts,
We wanted to write a short post about our Titanic Dream Submersible model set. We occasionally get comments and questions from people asking about our Titanic submersible, and sometimes people have differing views about it. We understand that completely. Some customers purchase our product simply as a toy, and some purchase it as a model.
A toy is an object used primarily for entertainment. A model represents a physical object on a different scale. And that model can take on the meaning and represent the "story" of the larger object. We all know of the great tragedy that occurred in April, 1912. And, of course, none of us wish to celebrate that in any way. The story of Titanic is incredibly rich, intriguing, and tragic. And it's captured our interests for well over century.
What is it about Titanic that has held our focus for so long? That is a complex question and certainly has many answers. It's a story of love and great loss, magic and magnificence. It's a captivating tale of desire and dreams, human error and heroism. It seems to cover the full spectrum of the human experience.
A model can be a great tool when used in the right way. It can provide an opportunity to hold one's interest in the immediate moment, while at the same time offering the opportunity to explore larger ideas, histories, mythologies or meaning. In the case of our Titanic Dream submersible model, it can provide parents or grandparents a chance to explore the dynamic story of Titanic with their children and grandchildren. It offers an environment for teaching about reverence, love, and heroism. It's a chance to explore themes of the fragility of life and the great will of the human spirit. It can be a time to talk about the human imagination, the incredible things it can create, and how we can choose to honor those who have gone before us.
Our Titanic submersible model sets are also frequently purchased and used by Titanic historians, lecturers and educators. They are well-received by Titanic model enthusiasts and collectors of rare items.
All of this is to emphasize our desire that our model sets be used with great reverence and that, whenever possible, they serve as models that help to tell the story of Titanic. The choice is always with a user how they wish to interact with something and the stories they wish to imagine. That is the great freedom of the imagination...to choose what to focus on. We hope that those who purchase our models sets will take the opportunity to help the legacy of Titanic live on in a positive and respectful way.
Thanks for reading.
